There is a phrase I love so much in the scripture because it carries so much hope and strength to go through trying times and that is, "And it came to pass." So anytime I'm in a distressing situation, I always remind myself, this too shall pass.
Tough times will come but they don't last only tough people do. Your toughness is a function of what you're made of, are you made of that which can stand the test of time, or of that which easily gives up and gives in to pressure. What is your faith built on? A song writer writes, 'My hope is built on nothing less than Jesus Christ my righteousness.'
Trying times abound in life and marriage. Financial challenges, job loss, health issues, temptations, in-laws, life goals looking unattainable, to mention a few leaves you feeling you have been abandoned to bear all these load all by yourself. There are times you seek strength to push through and its as if you can't find the smallest of energy to carry on.
At those times when you feel all alone, be assured that you're never alone. God is right by you holding you through the tough times. Whatever you overcame in the course of these trying moments in your marriage was not by your strength, it was by the power of the invisible hand holding you. When you exercise more faith and demonstrate more dependence, you'll experience more of His power at work in your situation.
As long as we're here on earth, we can't escape these moments. My trials may not be the same as yours but we all have our peculiar tests life has designed for us. Knowing its a test, are you prepared to pass or fail. Don't give the devil the honour of rejoicing over you by giving in. Fight through faith, believe it will come to pass and it definitely will be your testimony that it actually came to pass.
