Take Those Baby Steps

There was a time in my life when I allowed lack of confidence and self worth prevent me from doing what I like best. I cared too much about what people would say, how I'd be judged and criticised. I was always overwhelmed by fear. Each step towards destiny was characterised by fear and doubt. I desired to be better, to also discover and walk in purpose like those I look up to but I was held back by my doubts in myself and lack of appreciation for what I was capable of.

Does this describe you, have you been hiding behind the shadow of your fears and intimidation? Have you always felt not good enough and hence haven't bothered pursuing your dream? Have you also at one time in your life concluded you weren't created for any purpose? You are not alone.

One thing I've come to learn over the years is that the only way you can overcome your fear is by confronting it. Running away from it only postpones your encounter with your fear to a later date in future. In confronting your fears you take those baby steps towards your dream. You may slip and fall, rise up give yourself a good dust, note at what point you fell, understand why it happened, learn from it and enhance future steps with the lessons; resume your steps and advance towards your dream.

Your old fears will want to creep in sometimes but always remind yourself, you overcame it before, you can overcome it again. Those baby steps are actions that move you closer to your dream and for each action you take, your confidence level increases, lean on this confidence and take the next step. At this sequence, you cover more, increase your confidence to a greater level and your results too become better and visible.

Who says you can't live your dream and achieve success? Who says you can't determine how tomorrow turns out for you by controlling today? You can if you refuse to remain stuck in your fears and doubts but confront them and develop habits that keep you inspired towards your dream.

You will succeed!
