I place before you life and death, blessing and curse. Choose life.....Deut. 30:19 (MSG)
A blessed morning to you. TGIF (Thank God Its Friday). How has the week been for you? Has this challenge in anyway imparted something in you? What choices have you been led to make regarding your future since the commencement of this challenge? One power so inherent in man that we often take for granted is the power of choice. If only we recognise what this power means to us and what it can get us we would set in motion the path to fulfilling one of the greatest life ever lived.
Yesterday's devotion reminded us that the only person saddled with the responsibility of your future is you. If there's any power available to help you assume that responsibility for your destiny, it is the power of choices. From the moment you get out of bed to the time you retire back to bed your life is full of choices and therefore is a product of choices. Have you ever considered what changes can occur in your life if you altered some of the choices you make?
I think it is liberating knowing that no one can actually get into your head to try and determine your thoughts. No one can determine how you respond to people's emotions and to situations. Neither can anyone determine what you belief and accept as your reality. It is in your power to choose from all the alternatives available to you. No one is without alternatives, but knowing the best alternative to choose from is key to a desirable future.
We are constantly living the consequence of our choices. So when you're moody, its because you choose to allow a situation or someone trigger your mood swing. When you're bitter, its not just that you were hurt, its because you choose to respond with bitterness. When you're in financial crisis, it isn't just the economy that is but the consequence of your financial decisions. When your life is without meaning, its as a result of your choices that have not been in alignment with purpose. You don't have to be stuck in a situation or relationship, you have the power to choose from alternatives. You don't have to do what you're not comfortable with or buy things you don't have need of.
When you understand that your past choices is responsible for your present outcome. Then it becomes imperative that you make the right choices today for better results tomorrow. Your dreams and aspirations can become realities when you begin to exercise your power of choice.
Today's Action Plan:
• Pick and area of your life, family, career, health, finance or spiritual.
• List out the alternatives available to actualizing your dream in that area.
• Make a choice from your alternatives.
• Visualise the consequence and outcome of your choice. Let this be your motivator.
Thanks, have a flourishing day and a blessed weekend.
