Devotion: Its In Your Thinking

Keep your heart with all diligence, for out of it spring the issues of life. - Proverbs 4:23 (NKJV)

A radical change in your life will require a radical transformation in your way of thinking. As a woman thinks only of the limitations in her life, so also will she be limited at every phase and step in her life. As she things of progress, so will she advance through huddles and obstruction to attain her goals and live her dream.

What are your predominant thoughts? Are your optimistic in your thinking or a pessimist? What inspires your thought pattern, apprehension, hopelessness or possibilities and opportunities? Thought gives rise to actions, repeated action forms attitude and attitude determines your altitude.

How far in life have you gone in respect to achieving your goals and getting to live your dream. What's your attitude to goal setting, exercising the power of choices, what's your attitude towards taking responsibility? If your attitude does not encourage success, you may need to check your thinking pattern.

The mind which is the power seat where all thoughts are processed deserves some attention. Proverbs 4:23 says, you should guide your heart with all diligence for out of it flows the issues of life. I like the way The English Version (TEV) puts it, "Be careful how you think; your life is shaped by your thoughts"

With over 50,000 thoughts filtering through the mind on daily basis, having the raw materials. To create a future therefore isn't far fetched. If the scripture cautions us to be careful, then we need to watch which of these thoughts we meditate on. This is the point where we empower the mind to filter off negative, defeating, uninspiring thoughts through the renewal process.

"Don't be conformed to this world but be transformed by the renewing of your mind." Rom. 12:2

Renewing your mind empowers you with the mind of Christ that only see and thinks possibilities. For the mind to produce thoughts synonymous with success, it must align with God. So it can think like God and have His own perspective to situations of life.

You may not have control over what filters into your minds but you control what you choose to mull over. Think possibilities, results, fairness, positive outcomes, favour, goals, success, et al. Positive thoughts reinforces hope while a negative thought brings despair

Today's Action Plan:

• Decide today what you will and will not allow into your mind.

• Meditate on things that are honest, true, have praise, of good report and lovely.

God bless you as you flourish into a new life with a renewed mind.
