Devotion: The Power of Self Talk

Life and death are in the power of the tongue. Proverbs 18:21

Are you familiar with these internal talks: "Everything seem to be working against me." "I don't have the resources to start" "I'm a failure" "I don't have what it takes" "This too won't work out" "No one seems to like me" "if it must be for me, it must always be through the hard way" "Life is unfair to me" "This one is beyond my capability" "I'm too old for this" "This business is dead" "I'm going bankrupt." No one will ever be inspired to surpass herself with such self defeating internal dialogue.   So many times you may think some strange forces are pulling you back from your dreams but In reality, your limiting self talk has been accepted by your subconscious mind as your reality so that you're now conditioned to produce results that are no better than what you say to yourself.

"Your life without can never rise above the reality you live within." - Florence Ogunbowale

If there's the power to make alive and to destroy in your tongue, you can consciously begin to construct a new life  By paying attention to your internal dialogue so you can consciously replace defeating talks with encouraging ones. When you deliberately keep at this, it soon becomes an habit that helps you stay alert and ready to delete any defeating  talks.

Today's Action Plan:

· When you see yourself getting into negative self talk, ask yourself to stop.

• For every defeating talk, get a positive one to replace it.

As you explore the power of self talk every obstacle will look surmountable as everything about you will be conditioned to make the impossible happen.

Enjoy a flourishing weekend.
