Devotion: Be Ready

Take heed, keep on the alert; for you do not know when the appointed time will come. Mark 13:33  

Can you remember an opportunity that came for you to live your dream but you couldn't because you weren't ready for it. Many opportunities to make a mark had been subverted for lack of preparation.  

Zig Ziglar quote states that "Success occurs when opportunity meets preparation."  

So, its not as if the unsuccessful people never had opportunities to become successful, they had several but were never prepaid for any.   Several unsuccessful people today had the opportunity to rewrite the stories of their lives but couldn't recognise it because they weren't prepared  

No matter the kind of dream you have about your future, it won't just happen if you're not prepared for it.   Begin to do the things you would do if you were living your dream. Do you dream of becoming a public speaker, you can begin to practice at home, in front of the mirror. If your dream is to write, start writing now, you may not have a platform to have it published but you won't be caught off guard when the opportunity comes.   Keep working and improving on your skill. Don't wait till the job start coming, there might not be time for that. Your will to prepare must be as strong as the will to win because you can't win without being prepared for it. Failure to prepare is preparation for failure.  

What is your dream, are you growing towards it? Its not a thing of convenience, you have to be willing to burn the candles to give it whatever it takes. Don't be discouraged when you don't seem to see what you're preparing for just keep at it, the break will happened and be rest assured you won't miss it cause you'll be ready for it.  

Today's Action Plan:   • Start by turning your dream into a mental picture, see yourself living in the reality of your dream.   • In reality, you have never been that person in the dream therefore you need to take steps to be better prepared.   • Take the steps, whether its in looking it, talking it, doing it or being it, take steps that increases your chances of living your dream.   Thanks and have a flourishing weekend.
