Do you feel rejected? Do you feel inferior and unqualified for
the good things of life because of past disappointments? Do you feel
undervalued in your marriage? Are you unappreciated at work despite your
input? Maybe for that other lady it’s your self-esteem that has been
battered by your parents because they kept comparing you with your
sibling who is believed to be outspoken, intelligent and more
attractive.
Dear sister, you are not alone in this, Leah of the bible was very
familiar with these feelings. She had lived with the sting of rejection
from her youth. She never found acceptance or affection from those
around her because Rachel, her younger sister always took the day. The
pains of rejection followed her into adulthood; she was rejected and
unloved, she got married to a man who considered her a mistake. She was
the tool of her own father’s deception. Leah must have concluded that
life indeed was unfair to her.
The Bible records that “when God saw that Leah was unloved, He opened
her womb; but Rachel was barren.” The father sees and knows your pain;
you’re not totally on your own. He’s fighting for you; if only you could
look closely you would see His hand evident in your situation.
In all of Leah’s rejection, God had a greater plan for her life.
People felt she was unworthy of love and acceptance but God knew He had
fearfully and wonderfully made her and also found her worthy to be
aligned into His redemption plan for mankind, Leah bore Judah through
whom the royal lineage of David came including our Saviour Jesus Christ.
What people think or say about you cannot change how God sees you or
His plans for you. No one can count out who God has already counted in.
He already has your destiny mapped out and I am delighted to tell you
it’s a beautiful one, if only you could get a glimpse of it, you would
put on a dancing shoe and party the whole day.
Stop wondering if anyone cares because your Father does. He wants to
surround you with love and comfort because His thought for you are
thoughts of good and not evil to give you an expected end. Seek to know
His will for your life and be empowered by purpose.
God delights in you because you are His master piece; receive the
courage to live in this understanding and the wisdom to see the right
path to healing from the pain of rejection.
