The story of a woman I find fascinating this easter period is Mary Magdalene. Not much account was given about her past in the bible but a single description of her in Lk 8:2-3 sums up her whole life before her encounter with Jesus.
It is recorded that out of this woman came seven demons which tells a lot about the kind of life she must have been living. Her life must have been characterised by so much evil, negativity and failures. She must have also been a ready tool in the hands of the devil.
When this woman encountered the saviour the story of her life took a new turn. Not only was she delivered from satan's captivity she also became a vessel prepared for the Master's use. She discovered her sweet spot in the kingdom; her place of grace and functioned effectively in it. She followed Jesus wherever He went and ministered to His need. It was her place of strength where she found fulfilment and blessing.
The death of Jesus had brought so much terror on the disciples who went into hiding but this woman who would not be deterred became fearless even in the face of terror and determined to walk in purpose went to the tomb with other women to anoint His body. Her faith and commitment to fulfilling destiny brought her a great honour by being the first person to see the risen Christ. Even her past could not stop this.
Your past can only become a stumbling block to your life's goals to the degree to which you allow it but when you make it a stepping stone your reason to succeed becomes even stronger.
Dear woman, the life ahead of you is a life of grace and honour if you can become fearless in the face of every opposition before you and pursue your purpose. Walking in purpose brings confidence and the courage to face every fear including the fear of failure. It helps you keep your focus only on Him who has redeemed you and found you worthy to carry out His assignment; focusing on Him builds your faith to activate the supernatural and like Mary Magdalene honouring God through your purpose is an indirect honour to your person.
Happy Easter
