Everything seems to be on the fast lane. Even the life we live is fast paced. We are always on the move planning, and ensuring everything works out as planned. Our minds are constantly engaged to ensure that goals set are attained and targets met. We get carried away and overwhelmed by our desire and pursuit for success that we sometimes neglect God and take over the driver's seat of our destinies.
It is good to cultivate and maintain success habits as we pursue our life's purposes but in doing this, we should always bear in mind that we are what we are by the grace of God and outside Him we can do nothing. He is the all sufficient One who sustains us through life and therefore wants our total dependence on Him and not on our abilities and understanding.
No matter how well laid out our plans are, we still need God's direction to be able to navigate the huddles on our way to actualizing our dreams. Life isn't a smooth plain but when we learn to listen and yield to His leading, the journey becomes a whole lot easier.
God desires some quiet moments with us to enable Him communicate His will into our hearts. To hear Him, we need to deal with the noise and distractions within us and also let go off every concern our minds are bogged down with and become attuned to the Spirit of God.
He is saying at this moment "Be still and know that I am God." (Ps 46:1) that vision is mine I will make available the provision; that battle is mine, I will fight for you; that project is mine, I will complete it. When we come to realise that though He has given us so much power and creative abilities yet we can't do everything on our own, then we learn to surrender to Him and allow His awesome power work through us.
We need to constantly make out time to be alone with God to clarify our purposes. When life gets very demanding we become choked with so many activities that we can easily derail from our main goals but when on regular basis we get to hear God reaffirm His purpose in our hearts we can have the courage to say no to some things and be more intentional about our actions.
Make it a habit today to connect with God each day and let His peace flood your heart and bring clarity to every confused situation around you.
