Don't Change Track

When we see unbelievers cut corners to get to the top and engage in all sorts for prosperity sake and still excel in what they do, the tendency is for us to want to get sad and envious and feel unfairly treated by God considering our righteous standing.

For her, its as if life choose the hard path as she finds herself kicking against the rock just to breakthrough. There seems to be no end in view to her challenges, while she's rejoicing over the end of an ugly phase in her life another one surfaces. "Why is life so unfair? Why has God forsaken me? Is it really worth living a separated life and yet having no testimony to show for it? All these questions ran through Alice's mind as she ponders over her life. Then she realises she's been feeding this negative emotions for some time now and decides to distract her mind from her worries by reading her bible.

With no particular scripture in mind she flips through the pages scanning the scriptures in the process when a verse catches her attention, its a familiar one that sounds so powerful yet contrary to her real life situation, she decides to turn to another page because of this verses contrast with her life's experiences, but to her amazement, the strength to do so isn't there as a force keeps her glued to that verse. Then suddenly she senses the presence of another person in the room with her, at that point the atmosphere in the room had changed and become electrifying as she feels a cool wind blow over her skin sending shivers down her spine; overwhelmed with fear and unable to look up, she quickly buries her head in her bible and tries to cover her face with her trembling hands when she feels someone touch her on the shoulder and whisper into her ear with a voice like many running waters, "do you need understanding?" All she could do was node her head. He then went on to quote the same scripture that had held her bound, "But the path of the just is like the shining sun that shines ever brighter unto the perfect day. The way of the wicked is like darkness, they do not know what makes them stumble." He continued, you envy sinners because of their material possession, forgetting that as long as they lack me in their lives they forever walk in darkness and their ways ever slippery before them so that when they fall they come crashing to the floor over a small mistake. But for the righteous, his path is paved with gold that shines forth because he has me in Him and I'm always ahead of him as the brightness of the morning star, the light of the world, the pillar of clouds by day and the pillar of fire by night he can never stumble as he journeys through life. His path may be narrow, lonely and full of thorns, deception, betrayal, self denial, hurts and disappointments, I have permitted them all so he can grow through those processes into that mature man strong and fully equipped to handle the glory waiting at the end of his journey.

Daniel choose that same path when he said he wasn't going to defile himself with the portion of the king's meat and found himself in government. Joseph choose that path when he refused the advances from Potiphar's wife and found himself in the palace. Phinehas choose that path when he refused to tolerate immorality and struck down the Isrealite and a Midianite woman who were committing sin at the tabernacle and was able to stop the plague that was to consume the children of Isreal and through that zeal enlisted himself and his descendants into the office of the priesthood. What path have you chosen for yourself? Is it marked with righteousness? Is it just? That is your path to glory. As a lady preparing for marriage your family and friends are not in support of your choice of a life partner whom God has confirmed all because he doesn't have that shine now, don't change track, that is your path to glory; as a young man, you've stood for the truth and kicked against corruption in your office and for that reason it seems the world has left you behind, don't change track, that is your path to glory. Don't allow compromise from christians and in some cases top ministers of the gospel you look up to confuse or discourage you. Stand on the side of righteousness, stand on the side of truth, stand on the side of God, He alone can change your story because his path is ever shining. Remember righteousness always exalts, it never demotes.

When he was done with these sayings and sensing no one around she lifted her head only to discover her bible soaked in tears as she had been crying all through his message, then it dawned on her she had been in a trance, with no strength left in her, she fell on her knees and worshiped.

Prayer Confession:

Lord my path is ever shining because You have lined it with gold. As I journey through this month line my path with the good things of life, lead me into my land flowing with milk and honey. Cause destiny to happen for me when I least expect. Let me hear a voice behind me leading me on and saying to me, "this is the way you should go." Cause the lines to fall for me in pleasant places. My shiny path will attract the best into my life and even the lost to your kingdom because men will not be able to resist the brightness of my light in Jesus name.
