Encouragement For The Praying Woman
Are there times when you just don't feel like praying, you get so weary of life because to you God is not interested in your prayer?
Are there times when prayer becomes uninteresting and a ritual, and that is if you are able to muster anything at all. At times like this you feel God no longer listens to you and you become distant spiritually and more earthly conscious, life weighs in on you and your problems become so real and the solution far fetched. This is the time you need to pray and trust more. Though it may look like your prayer isn't doing much, heaven is keeping records and when your answers are eventually released its an harvest for years of seeds sown through prayer.
The widow is the parable given by Jesus in Lk 18:1-8 didn't give up until she had her way, she didn't even let the judge a moment to ponder over her request but kept persisting until it was granted. You don't relent in prayer as the devil never goes on break; but the irony of it is that we christians who are the target of every of satan's plot go on recess once there's a small victory and that explains why its always easy to strike a believer when things are rosy because then he let's off his guard and goes on a jamboree.
Don't be a daily multivitamin capsule christian when it comes to prayer. David said in Ps 55:16&17 that he will call upon God in the evening, morning and afternoon and verse 18 of the same chapter says, "He has redeemed my soul in peace from the battle that was against me, for they were many against me." No wonder David never lost any battle. Apart from living a life of praise, he also knew how to weary God with his petitions, he had no reason to worry because God always "redeemed his soul in peace". We are confronted with different battles on a daily basis, but Phil.4:6 encourages us never to be anxious but through prayer lay our burdens before our maker and His peace shall keep our minds, because the Lord Himself will do the fighting while we hold our peace (Ex.14:14).
Prayer is an essential part of our walk with God, it sustains us through our moments of difficulties. The weariness will come to make you feel prayer is a waste of time but you can actually take your prayer away from a boring routine to a time of fun through:
• Ravish in the understand of your intimacy with God. When you're intimately involved with somebody, you desire the person's company all the time. An understanding of this relationship frees your prayer life from being a drag.
• Making God the focus in your prayer. Focusing on self makes prayer boring as all you see are unmet desires but when you focus on God you'll discover all your needs cannot be compared to His beauty and passion that so overwhelms us in His presence.
(Ps 27:4)
• Knowing that the call to pray without ceasing is a call to enjoy every moment of intercession and this can be made possible when your contentment comes from the privilege of coming before God and hearing Jesus whisper His love into your heart.
• Approaching God as the One whose heart is absolutely ravished because of you and therefore takes pleasure in having fellowship with you.
• Worship. During worship, as you extol the greatness of God, your faith is released to believe that God will always be true to His promises and your present needs are no different.
• Being conscious of God's presence with you all day allows you the opportunity to communicate with Him anytime without having to wait for that special moment of your quiet time.
I encourage you therefore to unlock your heart as you take your prayer life to another level, let your heart soar, come before Him declaring like David, to see God in His beauty and your beauty in Him is your deepest desire.
