Rahab, The Woman of Inspiration (Part 2)

Today, we continue in our study of Rahab, the woman of destiny. Its quite interesting how life collides us with destiny in manners that are unexplainable. You are created for purpose and you will fulfil purpose, you will arrive at God's ordained destiny for your life in Jesus name.

Confess the prayer at the end of each lesson and let this lessons become part of your own story.

Lesson 4 - Developing Confidence and Self Esteem

This was an harlot coming from a low background who was also an idol worshiper dealing with the people of the most high God who themselves were adjudged righteous based on their walk with God and instead of a feeling of condemnation and lack of self worth, she summoned courage and confronted her fear by asking help from the spies and today the genealogy of Christ is not complete without the mention of her name. Fear will want to stop you, confront it, the thought of your background would want to stop you, overcome it, the feeling of despair will want to weigh you down, break free from it and take action towards your goal. Its time to end the pity party, rise up and move.  See failure as an important part of your growth process, learn from it and move on. In developing confidence and self esteem you need to know yourself, understand your strength, your interests and your purpose, this way what people say or think about you will have no effect.

Prayer Confession:
Father, you have not given me the spirit of fear but of boldness and with this I confront every aspect of my past that have stood in the way of my progress. I develop confidence and courage to face my fears and past failure in Jesus name.

Lesson 5 - Life is all about risk taking.

"Man cannot discover new oceans unless he has the courage to lose sight of the shore." - Andre Gide

"To win without risk is to triumph without glory." - Pierre Corneille

From Rahab's story, we see that she took a very dangerous risk by hiding the spies despite the implication of being caught. She must have had her eyes on what was in for her by sparing their lives. You cannot make progress towards your goal if you keep your eyes on the challenges you might encounter on the way and keep waiting for the perfect condition when all things will go according to plan, life itself isn't perfect. Take bold steps of faith and explore new opportunities to make your dream come true knowing heaven has got your back.

Prayer Confession:
I have an overcoming faith and it is activated today for exploits, all limitations are turned to strategies even as I begin to explore new and exciting ways of achieving my dream in Jesus name.

Lesson 6 - Don't discard those ideas

You can move from failure to success and from lack to abundance by receiving ideas and by turning those ideas into reality - (from the book, Ideas Rule The World by Sam Adeyemi). The idea of hiding the spies so she could have a leverage to negotiate her future sounded crazy, risky, un achievable, impossible and ridiculous but Rahab went ahead with the crazy idea. You have prayed, confessed and dreamt enough its now time to act on those ideas you received and turn them into reality. It is your responsibility to take that idea from the realm of imagination to the realm of the physical, just start something, take a step, move, whatever you do just make sure you're acting on the idea.

Prayer Confession:
Lord give me ideas for innovation that would outlive generations. I also receive grace to turn them into reality no matter how challenging they may appear.

Lesson 7 - Have your destiny and future in perspective when making choices.

Your choices and actions today will always affect your tomorrow. Rahab though unaware of what the future had in stock for her yet allowed her choice to be motivated by the desire to live and not perish with the rest of the people and the hope for a better tomorrow. You can begin to change your experiences in life by making the right choices and choosing to respond positively to situations of life having visions of your future in view. Its your decision to make and in you lies the power to choose right.

Prayer Confession:
Father, grant me wisdom to make choices that would preserve my destiny. I shall not be moved by sight but by faith in you and in your promise of a greater future for me in Jesus name.

Lesson 8 - Understanding the simplicity of God's requirement, which is faith and a will to obey.

God is not looking for a perfect woman, one without blemish, He is seeking a humble life through which he can demonstrate his manifold wisdom. He uses the foolish things of this world to confound the wise and the weak things to confound the strong. Come to Him the way you are in total surrender and let Him make something beautiful out of your life.

"Life isn't math-it doesn't always add up. Life isn't science-there's no formula. Life is art- make something beautiful of it."- Rick Warren

God's ways are unsearchable. You can't fathom Him with the human mind. How can you explain the redeemer of mankind coming through the lineage of a prostitute, so, its not about who you are now but who you become in God according to His purpose. If you are willing and obedient you shall eat the good in stock for your destiny.

Prayer Confession:
Father, the hope of a greater tomorrow is my anchor through the storms of life therefore help me develop an unshakable faith in your word because you are faithful to your promises.
Grant me the strength and grace to submit to you as you mould the beautiful me that fits into your plan and purpose for my life in Jesus name.
