Change Your Focus

When you look into people's faces you see traces of sadness, gloominess, frustration, disappointment, hunger, pain, anguish. A lot of people have been so consumed by their problems that it is literally written all over them, they have lost every glow in them, no joy, no peace, tensions are high, some people's temper is like one sitting on a time bomb waiting for the slightest provocation to explode. You can easily read people's frustration as they vent and curse over trivial issues, some wait for the slightest opportunity to discuss national issues to release all the anger bottled inside and you just feel sorry for them at the amount of pain they carry that is revealed in their expressions. We've all been let down. The government have let us down, social institutions, families, even churches have let down their members, traditional rulers, partners, friends and relations have all let us down at one time or the other. People have lost confidence and the will to trust again, many go to church these days and worship God but without expectation, they have all resigned to fate.

But I have come to return that glow you once had in your heart that shone on your face by directing your focus back to hope and life again, the book of Psalms 34:5 says "They looked to Him and were radiant and their faces were not ashamed." This implies that prior to when their faces shone they had other expressions on them as mentioned above, but when their focus changed, something remarkable also changed about them which reflected on their faces. You cannot have your focus on your troubles or on man and the world's system and be happy because all of these have failed. Look to Jesus, the one who called you and is able to walk you through life's challenges unto victory and let joy return back to your life.

The scripture also says, "And their faces were not ashamed", You will never be put to shame, God will never allow you get to the point where the world mocks at you requesting where is your God, He will show up for you even when you least expect Him. If man has left you down, beaten and out, God is not only ready to pick you up but to also elevate you. There are times you stand for God by not wanting to go the world's way, and its like you've made the biggest mistake of your life, hang in there, you can't be left stranded, in place of shame, the Lord will give you fame. I don't know what kind of situation you're in today that looks like the end for you, even though it looks like a disgrace, look up to Him and let your face radiate His glory.
