Have you ever been in a state of hopelessness and extreme despair and
then suddenly the holy spirit whispers to you to give Him praise and
your flesh says, "no way, I can't do that, I don't even have the courage
or faith to do it." Maybe your fiancé had just walked out of your 2
years relationship; or for you, your baby lies critically ill in the
hospital with little hope she will pull through; your husband needs a
huge amount of money to undergo a surgery; you've not enjoyed sound
health for a while as you've been in and out of one sickness or the
other; your children' school fees is over due and after many reminders,
the school authority is threatening to send them home if their fees is
not paid and you haven't the slightest clue where the money is going to
come from; you have a pending issue with the law you know nothing about;
and in the midst of all these you sense a leading to praise God, but
how do you find strength to praise Him in the midst of all these
adversity? How can you stir death, failure, frustration and shame in the
face and still praise God? My dear sister, I believe these are such
moments when God wants us to be 'foolishly foolish' (excuse my English)
about His adoration and forget all hang-ups about who we are and just
praise Him. In moments like this, you need to turn your attention away
from your problems and focus on His faithfulness, when you do this,
though your circumstance will not change but something inside you
definitely will, you will sense a supernatural strength touch you and
feel life return back into you. Just open your mouth and let a song out,
as you continue to praise Him faith, hope and assurance of His love and
presence rises in you as you find courage to pull through.
You can praise your way through any situation. Even when unfulfilled
expectations and failures have become your closest friends - I
understand what that feels like, there's tremendous strength in praise,
because it helps you focus on God's faithfulness thereby building your
faith for whatever situation you're in. Hab.3:17-19 says that the only
thing that can keep you going in famine or barren situation is an
attitude of praise and a lifestyle of rejoicing in God's presence. I
encourage you my lovely sister to cultivate this same lifestyle in
response to the desperate situations of your life as strength and
courage is always available for you...H~A~L~L~E~L~U~Y~A~H~
