Why worry when you can pray
Cast all your burden upon the Lord
I once heard a quote from a friend that says, "Worry and Trust are like
Water and Oil that can never mix." And this is what we are busy doing
all the time trying to make a chemical composition out of water and oil.
We say we trust God yet, peace has eluded our lives because of worry.
We worry over everything. Cast your cares upon the Lord for He cares for
you. Our cares is like a weight or burden we carry about, weighing us
down and draining us of every energy but here's an opportunity to be
relieved of this burden when Jesus says we should cast it upon Him, but
even after we claim to have done that, we still hold unto a part of it
and indirectly say to Him, "I don't think You have what it takes to help
me with this", we say this to Him each time we pray about a thing and
still worry over it. For this reason we lack peace and joy, and some
have even been pushed further into depression by the devil.
The bible
says, "Be anxious for nothing but in everything by prayer and
supplication, with thanksgiving, let your requests be made known to God
and the peace of God which surpasses all understanding, will guard your
hearts and minds through Christ Jesus." Phil.4:6-7. The first thing that
happens at the place of prayer is an ocean of peace that floods your
inner being, because an exchange has taken place, you feel the hand of
God literally lifting your burden and replacing it with strength, grace,
faith, courage, boldness and a new fighting spirit. Worry has never
taken away any problem rather it adds to it by opening you up to doubt,
fear, negative and ungodly suggestions while trust backed by prayer
opens you up for revelation and ideas that can take you out of the
problem. Remember we don't have a High Priest who cannot be touched with
the feelings of our infirmity, but was in all points tempted (Heb
4:15), so He knows our pains, fears and worries that's why He has asked
that we cast all upon Him so we can enjoy peace in our lives.
